Pace & Sip — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
The short version
Pace & Sip collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party tracking or crash-reporting SDKs. The app makes no network requests of its own, and nothing you enter ever leaves your device.
Your data stays on your device
Your drink and water log, sessions, drink presets and settings are stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework and shared only between the app, its widget and Live Activity on the same iPhone (through an App Group). If you use the Apple Watch app, your current session is passed to it directly from your iPhone over Apple's WatchConnectivity; it does not go through any server of mine. This data is not synced to any cloud, not shared with any third party, and not accessible to me.
Location
If you choose to set a home location, the app can use your location once, only while you have the app open, to centre the map where you drop the pin. The pin you choose is stored on your device and is used only to fill in the destination when you ask for a ride home. You can decline location access, or skip saving an address entirely, and the app still works.
Ride apps and messages
"Book Ride Home" opens a ride-hailing app you already have installed (such as Uber, Lyft, Ola or Bolt) and passes it your saved home pin. From that point, that app's own privacy policy applies. To know which ride apps are installed, Pace & Sip checks whether they can be opened; it does not read anything from them. "Text Buddy" opens Apple's standard message composer with a pre-filled message to a number you entered; nothing is sent unless you press send, and it is sent by your phone, not by me.
Notifications
Reminders and nudges are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server is involved.
Children's privacy
Pace & Sip is intended for adults of legal drinking age and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Third-party services
Pace & Sip does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or tracking SDKs of any kind.
Not medical or safety advice
Pace & Sip only counts what you log. It is not a breathalyser or medical device and cannot tell you whether you are fit to drive.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date above.
