When it falls

The story

On the second day devotees fast without even water until sunset. In the evening they break the fast with kheer and rotis and then begin the 36-hour waterless fast.

How it is kept

Kheer is cooked with jaggery on a clay stove over mango wood and eaten as prasad, shared with family and neighbours.
